One More Week...

Can she do it ladies and gentleman?

I sincerely hope so.

I've also realized that when things are looking good and there are exciting things to happen..school puts a damper on these things. It makes life less enjoyable. Everything in life will be going swimmingly and then you remember that paper you have to write and that huge monster quiz that might as well be a test to study for.

This is especially true right before Thanksgiving. It's like teachers look at you cackle to themselves and watch us, the little peon students run around squealing because we cannot decide what is more important. And the worst part is is that it is almost impossible to feel motivated when you know turkey is coming around the corner. Also, the bigger the project and the harder it seems the more you just want to blink your eyes and make it disappear in the dark abyss. Someone really needs to invent one of those..and the one under my bed doesn't qualify. Instead, a hole in the ozone needs to be created for ideas and homework that is really terrifying.
Let's make up a total hypothetical assignment to put in this black abyss. Let's say you have this 9, no 10 page paper on a topic related to John Dewey. And to make this a little better more fun to throw in the abyss, let's say you have to have a presentation on it. Ooo, and the professor asks you all kinds of questions to watch you squirm and think to himself, "wrong..nope that's wrong too." Yes..let's throw that assignment in the abyss first since it's just a hypothetical one and see if it works.

I lied.

Not hypothetical. Not even close. I can never just look forward to my turkey. Instead, I have stress to get to the turkey and figure out how to add time to my 24 hour day. Like having a 27 hour day or possible buying a stamp that I can wear on my hand that will freeze time around me. I know. I am kind of odd. I like it though.

Okay, so Joey Pigza my little fictional ADHD child says to not focus on three bad things in a row and since I have like 6 written out, I'll bring a positive one to the table. I got a package today from my mommy consisting of 4 children's books (YES! I LOVE THEM!) and the movie Elf...I heart that movie with everlasting heart. Positive thing number 2..I get to go to Disney World for Spring Break. YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY! Okay. I will stop so I dont rub it in anyone's face. I'll save that for another time.

Hehe.

Busy as a Beaver

So...I havent had any time to write lately. The rest of my fall break went well..no more food poisoning for me so that's good. Stefani and Aaron's wedding was very lovely..one of the best I've ever been to. I loved every minute of it..it was so nice to be outside and dancing. :) I've been busy trying to do lots of schoolwork such as working on my intercultural experience project and I havent even started that 10 page paper..both things due before Thanksgiving. Once again, professors want you to suffer before you are allowed to eat turkey and get fat. But the good part is that I dont have to do hw during break. I've also been helping out with the fall play for practical service, because you see I wasnt busy enough already. *c'mon get real face inserted here* But my mind is shot for funny things to write about. I could write about the election, but that would mostly just make me irritated. I could talk about how desperately I need to get away from this place..but that would irritate people. So what am I going to do. Be mindless and post a survey here. Okay? (you have no choice so just say okay.) ok.

Stefanie's Laws

So has anyone ever heard of Murphy's Laws? You know the laws like "if you fiddle with something long enough it will eventually break," or "if anything can go wrong it will."

Well I'm thinking I'm starting to compile a list of my own list of laws that apply to myself. The first one being:

1.) If it is a school break, you will get sick. (And if your boyfriend is here it will last just while he is here and then magically go away..but dont worry it will be really bad while he is here.)

So for 4 days I was permanently best friends with starvation and flat sprite thanks to food poisoning at Chili's where I will never ever go again.

My second law is:

2.) If there is anyway to possibly get hurt, you will find it. If there is a window open, your hand will get smashed in it, corners on furniture? your leg will find it. A phone charger lying on the floor? Your legs will magically get wrapped up in it and you will fall flat on your face. You get the picture.

The third law is:

3.) Everything must come at one time. We cannot space things out for you sorry, that would make you happy. Instead, we will make sure you have to hyperventilate and run around screaming, "the sky is falling" so that the world may laugh at your busy insane little self.

Okay..that is all for now. I am sure I will have more of those. I hope everyone else enjoyed their break. I am skipping school thursday and friday so I get a second break. The reason is because my best friend's wedding is Sunday and I didnt feel like driving all the way back here. So yay for me! But sadly there is no Adam here now. =( See law #1

Irony

So I read 140 pages in Rape of Nanking yesterday.

An hour after I finished reading for the day (after like 6.5 hours) she sends an email telling us she is postponing it a week and a half.

Figures.

That is all.

YAY for the Weekend! Boo on Nanking!

So..I'm uber glad it's the weekend. I can't believe I made it through this week but I did. Next week will be super crazy too..starting like *looks at watch* okay really right now. I have this 225 page book to read and a 5-7 page paper to write about it..that I havent had the chance to start on yet. But hopefully I will finish it by Sunday afternoon so I can write the paper by Wednesday. *sighs* The book is Rape of Nanking which is why I have the boo on nanking thing at the top of my page. This weekend is homecoming weekend, so we have the usual annual traditions, including one of my roomies and I's favorite activities, Jazz on the Overlook. People usually get all dressed up and go out to swing dance outside. This year it will be on the new Dottie Brock Gardens =) It's pretty cute over there, especially when they decorate it with little christmas lights and stuff. So it should be fun. I also have to get some practical service hours in either tonite or tomorrow. I think Amy and I are going tonight to do some stuff, because I have still lots of hours to do. Sad day =( Anyways..I think that is all I have to report. Pretty boring I know, but it's the end of week, you're lucky I'm still upright and slightly coherent.

October 6th

*scary face*
So I've been dreading October 6th for like the last three weeks now, because I have two!!! group presentations that day, and I super duper hate public speaking. Like hate is an understatement. It's terrifying to me, and I dread doing it for like weeks, especially if I don't have a good handle on what to say. It is an actual fear of mine. I hate professors make you do it, because they have to know that some peole would rather die than speak out loud..that would be me. When speaking in front of peeople, my face gets red, my voice starts to shake, my hands start going, and I start talking altogether too fast. It's awful.. Anyways, tomorrow is written on my calendar as the day from the underworld. *sighs* Oh well..time never stands still right? I will get through it..even if I dont know how to..or even if I dont do the hottest job. I guess what irritates me the most is the research I was trying to do for one of them completely pooped out on me. I was reading all these pages and copying and pasting and writing important facts down..but then the computer shut off and I lost all of it..all of my work..so now..I am a crappy group partner.. =( It's tragic really..oh well I guess..c'est la vie..Pray for me tomorrow if you read this...and if you get the time...well that is all for today..short post..
