The Rundown

So I have yet to write a post about what I am up to or to update on the current status of my life, and because I don't have a clever and witty idea for a funny post I am instead going to give a short update about life right now since after all this is my first week back at Covenant.

Adam left on Monday and then I packed nonstop until I left on Tuesday morning and got myself all moved in. I have decorated the room with a bunch of new stuff that I got at random intervals. It's super cute if I do say so myself. My phone wasnt working in my room which was mega annoying and after two frustrating trips to verizon they gave me a new phone so I can actually talk and text people now (although don't text me for a while bc I dont have many texts left for the month and I would rather you call than text me a conversation) Also, I went to my basic design class on friday and dropped it an hour later...seriously, I'm not even joking..I really did. It sounded like fun, but required a lot of drawing and those who know me know that I am drawing impaired..I am still artsy in my own way with things like photography and I have a knack for decorating and color scheming and if you ask me mixing and matching clothes is an art too. Anyways, but drawing I cannot do, so I dropped the class and I am instead taking English Syntax which yes does not sound incredibly exciting but I took the prof and a similar class last semester and did really well in it. So, I still have my 16 credits, and Amy will be in that class with me so that will be fun. =] I have two night classes this semester *bleck* but they are my education classes so hopefully I will enjoy them more *hopeful look* But other than that, not a whole lot has been going on except already some big laughs and funny quotes to remember. Hope everyone is having a nice weekend, and that everyone will have a nice labor day even though I still have classes. Although that seems very wrong to do labor on labor day..oh well..I don't make the rules...unfortunately..Anyways, catch you all later and I will try to think of something entertaining and goofy to write about although I am not sure it will be as good as my Michael Phelps blog ;)

Dear, Summer '08, it's been great!

And I hate to say goodbye but fate just cant be late
so I must wait til we may have another date.
And oh, please don't be late or I will leave some bait for you by the gate in a crate by my Australian mate.
Til then I will be in a different state at a school that is "first rate" *snickers* *straightens up*
But you have my most favorite trait..
I can look straight and see you coming despite what I might have ate
And I will skate through the year to see you again and we'll have a clean slate
Oh, and it will be oh so great, and once again I just cant wait.

This dorky poem (that I spent too much time on) pretty much says it all. School is starting again next week, and summer has left me to go be with the south americans...lol..stupid equator. Well, I suppose that isn't a horrible thing. I am just really attached to summer and all that it brings, and I dont really feel motivated to do school work, but that's okay I suppose. Hopefully, I will be rearing and ready when I get there. Adam is here this week and we've been having lots of fun being silly, and I wish he didn't have to go on Monday *puppy dog face* =[ I'll talk to you later, especially you Covenant people. Laters!

Santa, I want Michael Phelps for Christmas

Yes, I have a boyfriend. Yes, perhaps I sound shallow. No, I don't care what you think. And yes, Michael Phelps is my hero and an extremely cute one at that. Star struck? Only mildly. *winks* Anyways, I watched every race he was in..since the 2004 Olympics and before that. I remember the trials before that and the 2000 Olympics. And at the 2004 Olympics in Athens I desperately knew I wanted tickets to the Beijing Olympics to watch him swim. And then when I went to Baltimore that fall..I wanted to see him so bad (since that is where he is from) I'm dead serious. And now, that he is done swimming in the 2008 Beijing Olympics, I'd like to say HA! I was a fan longer than everyone else, and I've wanted to have this babies longer than anyone else. (the last part is kind of a joke) And I'm on my way to getting an autograph. (this part is for real) I don't care if I have to drive to Baltimore..I will get it. (Although I think there are other ways) He is just so talented and like I said..soo cute and goodlooking..(woo I do sound shallow don't I? oh well) But I can't even imagine being the best at something in even the state let alone the nation, the continent, and oh yeah...the stinking world! =O That's just majorly impressive and I salute him for that. And yes, Santa if you are listening I do want Michael Phelps for Christmas. Thank you.

"Excuses, Excuses"

I hate it when people make excuses..ones that are super lame and not even remotely believable. I mean sometimes I want to say to people "Ya know, telling me your dog ate your homework would be more believable or ya know telling me that a bunch of monkeys came and piled bananas outside your door so you couldnt get out would be more believable than your crappy excuse." Excuses usually mean people back out on something. For teachers it means kids backed out of doing their homework or something like that. Excuses are sometimes legitimate like if you are sick or something is an emergency. But how many people just make up stuff to get out of doing something? umm. often. And really what is an excuse? It's a lie. And I hate being lied to. Don't you? People make up stupid excuses..or say something ridiculous at the last minute that doesnt make any sense at all...like you didnt think of that beforehand? People must think that I'm stupid or naive..I mean a lot of people probably do just fall for any lame excuse such as the monkeys and bananas, but not me. I mean maybe if you are a great liar or actually you can just come up with something believable, I might fall for it. But what happened to being honest with people? If you can't do something, say why. If you didnt do your homework just say so. If you are late to work dont say it was traffic if you really were the irresponsible one. Or if you can control it just do what you say you're going to do. Do your homework, your chores, do the things you planned with your family or friends, make an effort. Don't back out on people at the last minute..it's not nice. Don't play video games when you have homework to do. Don't eat all the cookies and blame it on your little brother. I mean I make excuses..and I shouldn't. So this is my attempt to remind myself and others to stop saving your own butt and take responsibility for the work that is yours to do and for the promises you make.

Anyways, like my last post I am going to focus on some Olympic beach volleyball now.

The Thrill of the Hunt

I am a guy.

Haha..okay not anatomically and I don't "act" like a guy, but I do have this complex in that I like to chase and I like to hunt (and not in the gun, shoot an animal sort of way) For example, although this one doesnt illustrate my point: Shopping. I live to find bargains when I shop for stuff, especially clothes. I don't settle for things I dont want either..I hunt for exactly what I am looking for and then pounce on it. Or I will buy it and then return it and then rebuy it when it goes on sale (beating them at their own game.) I will hunt for my size or the perfect color or etc. (This has a point I swear) Anyways, I tend to be like that with guys too. Not that it really matters anymore, but I chase(d) guys. When I liked a guy in particular this one guy who I dated I chased him and chased him by trying to do things for him, trying to get them to see me, talking to them at every opportune moment, complimenting me all the time, and I could continue but that would be embarrassing. It was like a game to me..and I wanted to conquer and win, which is completely backwards. Girls are "in theory" the ones to be chased, where guys ride on their white horse and jump through hoops and make the girl feel beautiful and special. They are supposed to enjoy the thrill of the hunt. Now okay this makes me sound strange and odd. But I think there just isnt enough guys taking charge, but instead they are letting girls do the dirty work and take charge, which defeats the romantic thing and feeling cherished and special. And girls (including myself) it's okay to take a little interest, but if you are doing all the work and chasing after the guy you need to stop and let yourself be chased. Because you are worth it. Guys, step it up: Be the men you were created to be by God. You were designed to be hunters to be stronger. And yes, I need to listen to my own advice. I used to think if a guy was chasing after me that there was something wrong with him, that it was weird that I didnt have to work for it. I still struggle with that as I mentioned previously. Girls don't feel that way, and guys keep chasing bc there isn't anything wrong with you for hunting. This blog has been a long time coming. Tell me your opinions, I'd love to hear.

But now..the Olympics are calling me!

See ya!

Can two walk together?

This post is not made to be light-hearted but rather (to me) is kind of sadish. The title is actually a verse from the Bible. It is Amos 3:3, "Can two walk together unless they have agreed to do so?" So I had this friend for like my whole life who I basically grew up with. And when we were younger being friends was really easy. But then many things happened such as boys and religion. I won't get into too much discussion about this, but needless to say there was a falling out over a year ago. We met up for the first time last night to see if we could be friends, and I was extremely willing, and the person was at first. And then something snapped..a button was pushed and then all of a sudden it was as if I was living a dream, a nightmare really. I felt desperate and panicked as I realized I had become extremely vulnerable and poured my heart out to someone who was right then breaking my heart and taking jabs at me. I felt desperate to go back to the light-hearted conversation from 15 minutes before or to be 8 years old again, but it was impossible. And that was that. I walked away in more pain and more confusion than I had before I went out there, and all I felt was regret. And if you know me you know how I feel about regrets and bitterness. My favorite quote in the world is "Regret makes you old, and bitterness poisons the people around you." So basically I cried for a while last night and realized that fine I was going to remove myself completely, because I had done all I could and this person seemed to be enjoying my pain and I was done apologizing because it wasnt all on me, it was on them. So I decided they didnt get to know anything about my life because if they werent going to be my friend. They didnt deserve to know. So no, you cant walk with someone when they arent willing to walk and put the effort in.

Anyways, I decided to look extra nice for church today to make myself feel better and we went to Uno's after church for lunch so that was nice. And we have been playing wii which always makes me happy so I've been trying to have a nice day. I have to go to bed really early this whole week bc I have a mandatory 7am work time tomorrow bc of the heat=( and this whole week I think. Which really sucks since it's like pointless for me and Brandon to even do that b/c we don't work upstairs really where there is no air, but oh well. Maybe I'll treat myself to a biscuit before work. Well I'm gonna go for now. I'll try to have lighter and happier subjects for next time.
