It's been a long day..week..year..time..

It's been a long day
And all I've got to say is make it strong
It's been a long day
And all I've got to say is I've been wrong
So take a leave of absence
Tell me you'll be gone
I don't want to see your face
It's been a long day
And I just want to hide away
It's been a long week
And all the lines come down heavy on me
It's been a long week
I'm finally feeling like it's okay to break
into a thousand pieces
no one can replace
only I can find my way
It's been long day
And I just want to hideaway
It's been a long year
And everyone around me's disappeared
It's been a long year
And all this mess around me's finally cleared
So can I have a moment just to say hello
Can you let your anger go?
It's been a long year
And I'm finally ready to be here...

This song is sung by Rosi Golan..I first heard it on my favorite tv show...everyone should know what that is..no? fine. you fail. Anyways, it's One Tree Hill. I quickly grew to love it. I think it's because the words kind of ring true in my life. However- it's taken me more than a year to conquer my wanting to just hide and not be angry. That's why my title has time written on the end of it. I'm actually waiting to say the words "And I'm finally ready to be here." I think the reason I like this song so much is because it is the start of a new year..It's January..and if you know me..you know how much I really don't like January and February..I don't believe in luck or karma or any of that junk..but I must say January and February don't really have good track records for me. But this time every year I get contemplative..I reflect and I try to let the past just go and be the past..trying to be ready to be here..not necessarily here at school (although most days I'm still trying to adjust to that too even as a junior)..but more importantly I'm trying to be ready to be in this moment..right here..where I am..I think I have some more growing and healing to do before I can be ready..but I do really like this song..and you should go listen to it..it's on my myspace profile if you want to listen... www.myspace.com/stefjenny88

Texting..

Is it good or is it bad? It's both in my opinion. However, I find it to be mostly bad and slightly obnoxious. Let me tell you why I don't like it much and then the times where I think it is good. First of all, texting takes out the wonderfulness of an actual phone conversation. Instead of hearing someone's voice, you text an ENTIRE conversation. A five minute phone conversation becomes at least a 30 minute texting conversation. Ridiculous? I think so. Not to mention there is something nice about hearing someone's voice on the phone..especially my boyfriend or just talking to my mom about our day. Reason 2 I hate texting. Sometimes, I find that is rude and distracting. If someone in the movie theater is texting and I see their little light blinking or hear them clicking or hear the vibration..I get a little frustrated. It's okay if it is done once like maybe to tell someone they are in the movie..but seriously..the whole time? Why didnt you just bring that person along then??? Also, I think it's kind of annoying when you are trying to talk to someone and they are busy fiddling with their phone or texting someone..I had a friend like this once (we arent friends anymore for many reasons =( )..but when we would hang out I constantly felt like she would rather be talking to someone else. If you are hanging out with someone, dont text someone else the whole time. It's frustrating. Another example is this other friend of mine while we were on a trip to do mission work texted a majority of the time..making it really hard to talk or get to know them. Also, electronics were supposed to be used to a minimum. Also, texting your boyfriend or girlfriend all day long isnt romantic to me. 1) Talking on the phone and spending real quality time with each other seems betters and 2) It eventually leads to your being bored with one another b/c you've run out of things to talk about. Anyways, those are my reasons for not liking texting..I could probably keep going, but I won't.

The pros:
It's handy for when I am in class or somewhere else and have to ask someone a question and I obviously can't get on my phone right now. It's also nice if I just have one thing to say to someone such as "Had fun tonite..see you tomorrow" or something to that effect. It's also nice to get a text message in the middle of the day from my boyfriend that says "hope classes went well..love you." And there is also another pro..however, it is a pro which kind of makes us all pansies. It's when you really dont want to talk to someone- you are either afraid, don't like them, don't want to hear what they have to say, etc, etc. This is probably a bad thing- because we probably should call that person- but as a shy person and one who likes to go under the radar..I will count this as a blessing from time to time =) However, I still feel like texting is taking over the world.

Alright, so this will probably offend some people..but oh well..it's my blog and I can post my own thoughts right? School starts Tuesday. Bleck. Not even a little excited.

Let's Go People!

Alright, people. We need to make a deal. I will post more if you comment more. The last three posts I've got nothing. That means I have no incentive to write. You want to know about my life and my accident proneness? How about my paranoia which at times is actually valid..or maybe you prefer just to laugh at me. I'm comfortable with that. But we must write comments or else I feel like I'm writing to myself. And that is depressing.

So I came back from Kansas today. Flying just isnt what it used to be that is for sure. It's much less organized and more frustrating than it used to be. Pretty much every flight is guaranteed to be late which inevitably screws you over..like today. In a nutshell, I got up at 5:45am and rode in the car for 2.5 hours only to find out my flight had been delayed two hours which would cause me to miss my connecting flight in Atlanta. After an hour of waiting I was "rerouted" except then I had to check in somewhere else, where there was an abnormally long line. Apparently I had priority access meaning I could've skipped that line, but NO ONE told me that. So I waited. Thirty minutes later I get to security. "Finally, I'm free", I think to myself. I didnt really have time to tell my boyfriend goodbye..that was REALLY depressing. Then I find out that I've been chosen for a random search. Now those who know me know that one of my fears in life is not flying oh no..I got that down for the most part..I fear airport security. It makes me nervous. And here I am already late, no time to spare to get to my flight, and I have to take 15 minutes I dont have to get patted down and have my undies and personal belongings thrown up in the air. Grrness. But I made it..just barely. Ended up in the Dallas airport..which by the way is extremely confusing. I pretty much hated it. Got cheated by subway..needed to bust out the ruler. Apparently in the economic crisis 6 inch sandwiches went to 4 inches but they still tell people it's 6 inches..like math suddenly changed or something. But at least I'm at home in one piece. Hope everyone had a good New Year's. Write comments and tell me what you did. I was going to write about my topic piece which is about texting..but this seems long enough. Write comments or I'll beat you all up =)
